BridgeHealth chooses remote physical therapy provider SWORD Health to provide Members with in-home access to physical therapy for acute, chronic, and pre- and post-surgery support
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#MSK–BridgeHealth, the leading provider of surgical advocacy and centers of excellence programs, will now include in-home physical therapy (PT) provided by virtual musculoskeletal (MSK) care provider SWORD Health.
SWORD Health’s clinical-grade digital PT solution delivers both measurable quality outcomes and affordable, high-quality care for BridgeHealth Members. Those Members who need surgery will have access to SWORD Health’s virtual prehab/rehab support, further improving surgical outcomes and reducing complications and return to work timeframes.
Members with MSK-related issues such as lower back, shoulder, or neck pain may also, through virtual physical therapy, avoid surgery and better manage their pain. SWORD Health’s virtual therapy platform pairs expert, licensed physical therapists with FDA-listed wearable technology to guide Members through personalized treatment plans in the safety and convenience of their own homes. This type of interactive, on-demand PT delivers better adoption, adherence, and long-term outcomes at a more affordable price-point for both Members and their employers.
“At BridgeHealth, we focus on providing the highest quality care paired with affordability and an exceptional experience for the Member. We know many MSK surgeries can be avoided altogether through effective physical therapy, and those surgeries that are necessary and appropriate have better outcomes when patients adhere to a quality physical therapy regimen,” said Jamie Hall, president and CEO at BridgeHealth. “Our new partnership with SWORD Health empowers our Members to achieve superior outcomes on their terms. In the era of COVID, virtual PT support is more important than ever, and we’re thrilled to bring on a proven partner like SWORD Health to provide access to better care for our Members.”
For more than ten years, BridgeHealth has delivered surgical advocacy and COE programs to large, self-insured employers, their employees and dependents. As healthcare costs increase at unacceptable rates and Members get less of the support they need to stay healthy, BridgeHealth provides objective quality standards, improved access and affordability, and a streamlined healthcare experience. By leveraging its proven, value-based care model and expanding it beyond the surgical episode, BridgeHealth creates greater access for more people to affordable, high-quality care and establishes exceptional Member experiences as the new norm in healthcare.
“We believe in the power of people to recover at home,” said André Eiras dos Santos, vice president of strategic business development at SWORD Health, “without the need to resort to costly imaging, surgery or opioid use. We’re excited about this partnership with BridgeHealth and our ability to help them empower their Members further upstream and, when and if appropriate, guide them back to BridgeHealth to find a high-quality surgeon available through their COE program.”
