Coverage decision to help patient costs when physicians prescribe VitalPatch for monitoring of health conditions
VitalConnect, Inc., a provider in remote and in-hospital wearable biosensor technology, today announced that its product portfolio is now being covered by Aetna, a CVS Health company and one of the nation’s leading diversified health care benefits companies. This means that VitalConnect’s unique four-in-one cardiac monitoring solution for mobile cardiac telemetry, extended Holter, Holter, and cardiac event monitoring, will now be part of covered services for Aetna members whose physicians have recommended cardiac monitoring for chronic or acute health conditions.
“The recognition of the VitalConnect solution by one of the largest health care benefits companies in the country is a tremendous plus for patients needing cardiac monitoring,” said Peter Van Haur, CEO of VitalConnect. “Additionally, this is a tremendous recognition and validation of the benefits of the real-time monitoring capabilities of VistaSolution. VitalConnect offers the only Cardiac Monitoring Technology that sends all patient data instantaneously to a secure cloud, enabling monitoring for 21 different cardiac arrhythmias and real-time monitoring for four important patient vitals.”
VitalConnect’s cardiac monitoring solution consists of four components: 1) VitalPatch RTM: a wireless, disposable, biosensor which can be used to monitor ECG, vital signs, and 21 cardiac arrhythmias; 2) VistaPhone: mobile device to relay information from patch to cloud in real time, and 3) Vista Center: a central monitoring interface providing physician’s 24/7 access to real-time and historic patient data through a secure URL and 4) a dedicated, independent diagnostic testing facility.
Founded in 2011, VitalConnect has deployed more than 100,000 VitalPatches across the world. The VitalPatch allows real-time remote or in-hospital monitoring, cardiac monitoring and a solution for monitoring patients with COVID-19 allowing physicians to monitor patients without necessarily taking up bed space needed for patients with more immediate needs and limiting exposure for patients and staff.
