Nationally recognized thought leaders will host a series of bimonthly webcasts addressing hot-button health care issues within oncology and discussing how to deliver improved patient care.

CRANBURY, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#HealthEquityThe American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®), the leading multimedia peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues in managed care, is pleased to officially announce the Oncology Value Coalition, which will produce an exciting new webcast series delivering informed content from the highest-regarded organizations involved in the transformation of oncology patient care.

AJMC®’s Oncology Value Coalition draws its strength from the journal’s 26-year history of bringing together stakeholders from across the care spectrum. The coalition will unite thought leaders and practitioners in cancer care who seek to change the way care is delivered but who might not cross paths in any other forum.

The coalition will drive conversation and collaboration amongst health care industry leaders to eliminate disparities and variations in the quality of oncology care through educational resources.

“This series will provide important information about care for oncology patients, as well as solutions to issues the health care field is currently facing,” said Mike Hennessy Jr., president and CEO of MJH Life Sciences™, parent company of AJMC®. “Providing health care professionals and patients with informative and trusted news is one of our core pillars. With the series, we aim to improve the lives of patients by providing health care leaders with the most relevant and groundbreaking information in the industry.”

The AJMC® Oncology Value Coalition will host its inaugural event, “Disparities in Cancer Care: Sources and Solutions,” a free, live, one-hour webcast, on Monday, March 22, at 12 p.m. EDT. During this session, the panelists will explore new findings that suggest that minority groups develop cancer at higher rates and experience worse outcomes than nonminority groups.

The panel features:

  • Kashyap Patel, M.D., CEO, Carolina Blood and Cancer Care Associates and associate editor, AJMC®’s Evidence-Based Oncology™.
  • Debra Patt, MD, Ph.D., MBA, executive vice president, policy and strategic initiatives, Texas Oncology.
