In recent months the spread of COVID-19 has had a huge impact on global economies, healthcare services and health IT markets in general. For some market segments the crisis has changed the market outlook considerably. This paper provides Signify Research’s initial assessment of how the pandemic will impact the imaging IT and imaging modality markets examined in this report.
It should be noted that this is a first pass, top-down impact assessment. With so many unknown variables relating to the impact of the virus, the timescales at which different countries will reduce lockdown restrictions and the pace that heath systems will restart elective procedures, the truth is that for many markets there is not yet enough data to produce a reliable forecast using our usual bottom-up forecast method. For this reason, Signify Research has chosen at this point to update our forecasts by producing potential market development scenarios, rather than fixed projections.
